Overview
This section covers the foundation of Microsoft 365 Copilot Business User knowledge: what generative AI does, how Copilot is grounded in work context, and why responsible review matters.
Core Concepts
- **Generative AI fundamentals:** Generative AI creates new text, summaries, ideas, and other content from prompts and available context. Outputs are probabilistic and can be incomplete or incorrect.
- **Microsoft Graph grounding:** Microsoft 365 Copilot can ground responses in Microsoft Graph data, such as files, email, chats, and meetings, when the signed-in user has access to that content.
- **User permissions:** Copilot does not grant new permissions. It can only use organizational content the user is permitted to access through Microsoft 365 controls.
Exam Tips
- Check whether the scenario is about privacy, permissions, grounding, or responsible use before choosing a Copilot feature.
- Do not assume Copilot can see all organizational content. Existing Microsoft 365 access controls still matter.
