Core Concepts
- A PAP can respond differently depending on who qualifies as an insured and whether the auto is owned, newly acquired, temporary, rented, or non-owned.
- For a newly acquired auto, collision timing depends on whether another declared auto already carries collision; if none does, the ISO rule requires a collision request within four days and applies a $500 deductible.
- Liability coverage addresses legal responsibility to others; collision/Other Than Collision address physical damage to the covered auto.
