Explain how you would apply this RHS concept in practice: A dental assistant notices an unfamiliar radiographic finding. What is appropriate within the RHS role?
Strong Interview Answer
Know common landmarks and expected appearances in the maxilla and mandible, including sinus areas, TMJ region, roots, lamina dura/PDL space, alveolar crest and edentulous anatomy. Recognize image patterns associated with caries, periodontal bone changes, periapical abnormalities, impacted/supernumerary teeth, implants and foreign objects. Radiopaque structures absorb more x-rays and appear lighter; radiolucent structures transmit more x-rays and appear darker.
