Overview

AI-200 expects you to package back-end AI components as immutable container images, manage them in Azure Container Registry (ACR), automate builds with ACR Tasks, and deploy custom containers to Azure App Service.

Core Concepts

A container image is an immutable package of the application, runtime, libraries, and filesystem layers. A running container is an instance of that image.
Azure Container Registry stores OCI/Docker-compatible artifacts in repositories. A repository groups related image versions.
A tag is a mutable human-friendly label such as v1 or prod; a digest is a content-addressed immutable identifier. Pinning by digest provides stronger deployment reproducibility.

Exam Tips

Image lifecycle: Build -> Test -> Tag -> Push -> Deploy -> Observe -> Replace.
Repo + tag is convenient; digest is immutable.
