Overview
Know what makes work a project and recognize the major methodologies and frameworks named by the PK0-005 objectives.
Core Concepts
- A project is temporary: it has a defined start and finish, creates a unique result, and exists for a business reason or purpose.
- A program coordinates related projects to obtain benefits that are difficult to achieve when the projects are managed separately.
- A portfolio groups projects and programs to support strategic objectives; components do not have to be directly related.
Exam Tips
- Do not infer that one framework is automatically correct merely because an industry is regulated; use the scenario's actual need for governance, iteration, flow, scale, or security.
- Watch for words such as 'continuous flow,' 'sprint,' 'enterprise scale,' 'security throughout,' and 'sequential phases' because they point strongly to Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, DevSecOps, and Waterfall respectively.
