Core Concepts
- Michigan insurers must electronically file a producer appointment within 15 days after the agency contract is executed or the first insurance application is submitted.
- The producer may not act as that insurer’s agent until properly appointed.
- Appointment and producer licensure are separate requirements.
Exam Tips
